Data Protection and Cross Border Data Transfer

Our Partner Tiago Assunção and Associate António Camacho Coelho had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Vision: Data Protection and Cross-Border Data Transfer webinar hosted by LexisNexis in collaboration with Hogan Lovells Hong Kong, with key topics being the regulatory developments and landscape for 2025, the importance and challenges of seamless data transfers in the Greater Bay Area, navigating data localization requirements and security, as well as collaboration and technological innovations.

It was a good opportunity to gather insights into organizations’ challenges in ensuring robust data protection and discover strategies for navigating data localization and residency requirements. In addition, Hogan Lovells Partners Sherry Gong and Tommy Liu provided excellent insights into the recently issued CBDT Provisions, network data regulations and the GBA Standard Contract, whilst highlighting the importance of the collaboration between legal and IT teams, the latest updates on data protection laws, and innovative technologies that will enhance legal efficiency.

As fellow Macau SAR lawyers specializing in data protection and privacy matters, staying updated on the latest trends and developments in Mainland China and Hong Kong is important. We will certainly be looking forward to the next event!
